2014 National Trails Day Celebration

Town of Exeter New Hampshire Official Website

On Saturday June 7th we hosted two walks at the Little River Conservation Area in celebration of National Trails Day!

Carlos Guindon lead a wonderful bird walk in the morning.  Some species seen/heard included common yellowthroat, black throated green warbler, scarlet tanager, a pileated woodpecker, and a flock of waxwings to mention a few.

This was followed by an informative wildlife walk lead by David O'Hearn.  We learned about some important sources of food for wildlife, saw signs of otter along the Little River, caught a glimpse of some wood ducks, and saw some freshwater mussels.

Thank you to both leaders for a wonderful day!
