The Town of Exeter offers curbside collection of household rubbish, recyclables, bulky waste, and limited leaf and grass pick-up through a contract with Northside Carting, Inc. of North Andover, MA (www.northsidecarting.com). You can find your collection day by clicking on the Curbside Collection Schedule attached below.
Household rubbish must be in “Town of Exeter” Blue Bags and placed at the curb by 7:00 AM on your regular pick-up day. There is no limit on number of blue bags. Bags must be tied and not exceed weight limit stated on the bag (approximately 45 lbs for a large bag).
Blue bags can be purchased at: Arjay’s, Convenient Grocer, Deep Meadow Variety, Extra Mart, Gerry’s Variety, High Street Market, Market Basket (Epping/Stratham), Shaw’s, Stop & Shop, and Walgreens (Exeter).

Large Bag - $2.00 (33 gallon)
Small Bag - $1.00 (15 gallon)
Regular trash, recyclables & bulky waste items are collected on the same day as your regular pickup.

Pick-up will be delayed one day after a holiday or inclement weather. For up-to-date
One (1) Bulky Item (with $5 sticker) may be placed at curbside each week on trash collection day. Bulky items are large household items such as couch, chair, table, mattress, box spring, etc. Does not include white goods (metal) which can be recycled such as washer, dryer, dishwasher, etc. (see White Goods). Does not include appliances with freon such as refrigerators, freezers, air conditioners, etc. (see freon Appliances). Does NOT include construction debris such as window, door, carpet, toilet, sink, etc. (see Construction Debris)
Northside Carting will pick-up leaves & grass twice each year (1-spring & 1-fall). Dates will be established each season – check website, local listings, or call the Information Line. Collection will be limited to 12 leaf bags per residence. Leaves must be in biodegradable paper bags. Leaves & grass can also be taken to the Transfer Station during normal hours of operation (no permit required).
Leaves and grass taken to the Transfer Station and those collected at curbside are composted. The finished compost is free to Exeter residents, contact the DPW Office for availability.
