REQUEST FOR SEALED BIDS FOR POOL RESURFACING

The Exeter Parks and Recreation Department is requesting bids for the cleaning, repair and painting of its outdoor swimming pool.  Work is to be done in the spring of 2015 as early as weather allows.  The pool can be viewed this fall by contacting Mike Favreau at 773-6151 or 944-6253 (cell).  Some water is left in the pool during the winter to protect the bottom.

Bids due December 12, 2014 by 4:00 PM

The Town reserves the right to reject any and all bids that do not meet the needs and financial limitations of the town. 

SPECIFICS: 

Pool is a 50’ X 75’ with attached diving well that is 30’ X 36’.  Depth runs from 3-5’ and the diving well is 12’. 

  • Brush-blast existing painted surface.  Pressure-wash the surface. 
  • Cut out existing caulking and install new industry standard caulking with backer rod as needed.    
  • Patch any chipped areas around the edge as needed.  Stairs may need some patching. 
  • The Contractor will remove and dispose of all chipped and flaking cement.  Patch should be done with a Thoro-seal slurry or equal. 
  • Apply Tnemec 161 paint (or compatible paint) with light broadcast of aggregate between coats. 
  • Base coat is white and blue striping (lane lines and wall crosses). 
  • Pool is equipped with anti-vortex drain covers that need to be protected. 
  • Required depth markings to be marked on pool edge. 
  • On site verifications by the contractor will be required to establish access points, existing conditions, site equipment and finish protection techniques, and confirm the scope of the project, in order to determine feasibility, completeness, and adherence to applicable standards. 
  • Work must be completed no later than May 15, 2015
  • Town of Exeter Parks and Recreation will pump out and remove leaves from pool prior to start of work.
