About Our Department

Our office is open from 8:15 AM- 4:00 PM Monday- Friday. 

We are located in the Town Offices Building, 10 Front Street, Exeter, NH 03833.

Our department is responsible for processing payments, tax liens, lien redemptions, and payment plans. We are staffed by two full-time personnel, a Deputy Tax Collector and a Collections Specialist.   

Property Tax

Exeter bills semi-annually for property taxes, with due dates of July 1st and December 1st (approx.)  Bills are mailed at least 30 days in advance of the due date. 

Our department collects all property taxes for the Town, County, Local and State Education.  

Water and Sewer

Exeter bills quarterly for water/sewer services. Our department can answer questions about payments, amounts due, refunds and payment plans. Billing questions related to consumption or other aspects of the bill are handled by the Department of Public Works.
