Exeter Town Hall

 

Property Tax bills are generated and mailed twice a year. 

The first bill is mailed in May and DUE 30 DAYS FROM BILL DATE.

The second bill is mailed in November and Due 30 DAYS FROM BILL DATE.

Please be advise the billing dates and due dates change each year, the months stay the same but the other dates may change.  The second half is not always December 1st, please read the bill for due dates and when interest will start accruing.

TAX RATE FOR 2023 SECOND HALF IS $26.78

The Tax Rate always changes for the second half, so the second half bill will always be different from your first half. 

The first half bills are created from half of the total taxes from the year before. 

The Tax Year runs from April 1st through March 31st of the following year.

  • 1st Installment covers April 1st- September 30th.
  • 2nd installment covers October 1st- March 31st.

Bills paid after the due date accrue interest at 8% annually.

Property Tax

The property tax rate is calculated per 1,000 of assessed value.  

The rate has four main components:

1. Municipal rate

2. School rate (local school plus Exeter Region Co-op share)

3. State Education Tax rate (set by RSA)

4. County rate 

Property tax bills are mailed twice each year, and are due on July 1st and December 1st each year.
