The following Elected Official Offices are open for 2019:

One Moderator, 2 year term
Two Select Board, 3 year term
One Swasey Parkway Trustee, 3 year term
One Trust Fund Trustee, 3 year term
One Robinson Fund Trustee, 7 year term
Three Library Trustees, 3 year term
One Library Trustee, 1 year term

How Do I Run for Office?

To run for an elected Exeter Town Office, you must file with the Town Clerk.  We have the forms at our office or you may write the following statement:

“I,  ____________________, declare that I am domiciled in the town of Exeter, and that I am a registered voter therein; that I am a candidate for the office of ______________________________ and hereby request my name be printed on the official nonpartisan ballot of the town of Exeter.”

Statements of candidacy may be filed at the Town Clerk’s Office, 10 Front Street, from Wednesday, January 23th through Friday, February 1st, 2019 during regular business hours.  Persons interested in filing to run for a town office on the last day of filing must do so in person at the Town Clerk’s Office.  The office closes early on Friday but will be open from 3-5pm for CANDIDACY FILING ONLY.  NO BUSINESS TRANSACTIONS ARE AVAILABLE DURING THIS TIME.
