Transportation Committee

This committee is no longer active.

The Local Transportation Committee is a group composed of residents and stakeholders in the town's transportation programs. The committee reviews transportation issues in Exeter, especially those funded with the local option fee adopted by the town and paid by residents each year who register their vehicles.  This transportation fund has provided funding for a variety of town transportation programs including TASC, Meals on Wheels transportation, Parks/Recreation Taxi Ticket voucher program, COAST bus, and Lamprey Health van services.

The Transportation Committee has worked with multiple entities to help provide transportation for Exeter Residents. Programs like Transportation Assistance for Senior Citizens pairs elderly residents with volunteer drivers.

Rockingham Nutrition and Meals on Wheels (RNMOW) Senior Shuttle Program provides similar services to Exeter's older and disabled citizens. Exeter also provides a Senior Tax-ticket voucher program. It provides assistance by reducing the cost to use the taxi service to get around town.

The COAST bus is a transportation service providing riders the ability to get from Exeter to Newmarket, Dover, and Portsmouth.  The bus is active three days per week and on Saturdays.

Questions regarding the local transportation committee activities can be directed to the Town Manager's Office, 773-6102.
