Window Dressers: Window Insert Program

Exeter's Window Insert Sale and Community Build

The Energy Committee has partnered with the non-profit organization Window Dressers to bring the low-cost Window Insert opportunity to Exeter.

Window inserts are reusable clear film inserts that fit inside of your existing windows.  They are low cost because they are built at barn-raising-style Community Builds across Maine, Vermont and New Hampshire.  Everyone who orders inserts also participates in the Community Build!  Watch this short video explanation about the program to learn more.

Our local team will come to your house to measure windows and determine the cost of your inserts.

  • Some financial support is available to offset costs.
  • Inserts are built by participants, buyers and other community volunteers.
  • The Exeter Window Dressers Community Build will be held January 18th-January 24th at Exeter Town Hall.

Are You Considering Volunteering?

We are building a team of volunteers for the following tasks:

  • Organization Committee:  Work with members of the Energy Committee to help prepare for the Build - regular meetings (Now thru Jan)
  • Window Measuring Team:  Visit customer homes to measure windows - A total of 30 homes split between several teams of 2 (Summer - Early Winter)
  • Community Build:  Assist with the assembly of window inserts during the Community Build (Jan 17 through Jan 24).
