Pickpocket Dam

Pickpocket Dam was declared a "High Hazard" dam by the NH Department of Environmental Services in October of 2019. The town is looking at alternatives to address the issue. Find more documentation below. 

Project Updates:

11/20/2024: A Public Information Session has been scheduled for Tuesday, December 10th from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m at the Exeter Public Library.

5/31/2024: The Pickpocket Dam Feasibility Study presentation to the Selectboard on Tuesday, May 28th has been add as well as a link to the Selectboard Meeting. 

5/2/2024: The Pickpocket Dam Feasibility Study has been added to the document section below as well as Appendix H - Public Comments.

4/3/2024: The Pickpocket Dam River Advisory Committee Feasibility Study presentation has been added to the files section below.

3/4/2024: The handout and presentation from the Public Meeting have been added to this site for review. 

The Draft Technical Report for the Pickpocket Dam Feasibility Study dated February 20th, 2024 has been added to this site for review. For questions, comments, or concerns please email pickpocketdam@exeternh.gov.
**The study can also be reviewed at the Exeter Public Library.

at the Exeter Town Hall located at 9 Front Street

Public participation is critical to ensuring that the feasibility study will be thorough, accurate and responsive to the community’s needs. Comments and questions can be submitted via email to the Town at pickpocketdam@exeternh.gov or mailed to 13 Newfields Road, Exeter, NH 03833.

The meeting will be televised on channel 22 as well as ExeterTV on youtube.
