Under New Hampshire law, certain older records are open to the public, while other, more recent records are only available when the applicant has a "direct and tangible interest" in the record. The individual or an immediate member of the family may obtain a copy of a vital record in this category.
The records in the Town of Exeter are open to the public in the following categories:

DEATH RECORDS: Prior to 1965
MARRIAGE RECORDS: Prior to 1960
The Town of Exeter has vital records dated 1848 to present. Customers are more than welcome to observe the records open to the public during regular business hours.
