Electric Aggregation Plan Published
Town of Exeter, NH, December 28th, 2021 - The Community Power Aggregation Committee has published its final draft for the Exeter Aggregation Plan. The aggregation plan will:
- Promote clean energy by giving customers choice in the amount of renewable energy in their electricity supply.
- Aggregate electric demand with other NH communities to provide electricity at rates for Exeter residents that are similar to or less than those from Unitil.
- Give local control to the Town for rate setting and electric supply contract negotiation
- Over time, generate a reserve fund for the Town to use to modernize electric infrastructure: smart meters, energy storage, electric vehicle chargers etc.
- Allow participants at any time to opt out of the program to return to supply from Unitil
The plan will be discussed at the 2022 Town Meeting on February 5th and voted on at Town Elections on March 8th. More information can be found on the Community Power Aggregation Committee page.
