How to apply for an Absentee Ballot, Absentee Ballot Requests, Election Dates & Sample Ballots
ABSENTEE BALLOTS
Any Exeter voter wishing to complete and absentee ballot application, please print off the application for the election you are applying for. You may mail, email or fax your application to the following:

ABSENTEE BALLOT QUALIFICATIONS
Who can vote absentee:
- Absent on the day of the election from the city, town or unincorporated place where you are domiciled.
- You cannot appear in public on election day because of observance of a religious commitment.
- You are unable to vote in person due to a disability.
- You cannot appear at any time during polling hours at your polling place due to an employment obligation requiring you to remain physically at work or in transit to or from work.
***PLEASE NOTE:
- Please allow enough time for the for the Clerk to receive the request, the post office to deliver the ballot, and for the voter to mail back the ballot.
- Follow the instructions enclosed with your ballot
- The ballot MUST be received in the mail, no later than 5:00 pm on election day
- Hand-delivered ballots may be dropped off at the Town Clerk's Office during regular business hours by the voter or delivered by the voter's spouse, parent, sibling or child. The family member must fill out a form and present a government-issued ID.
- Voters who are present in the Town on election day must go to the polls.
- Please make sure you sign the application before submitting it to our office. Any incomplete applications will be rejected.
- Absentee ballots are sent from the Secretary of State to the town clerks so they shall receive them no later than 30 days prior to the day of the election.
