2024 Silk Painting w/Sandra

Learn to paint on silk with French cold-water dyes that can be 'set’ with just an iron. Working with water-soluble resist, crepe-de-chine silk fabric, and beautiful dyes, we'll create a colorful work of art. We will practice with the resist and make a mandala with some of the methods of using dyes. The finished mandala may be used as a ‘light catcher’ or stitched to a pillow or jacket.

INSTRUCTOR: Sandra Golbert - “The process of making art comes easily to me. I don’t suffer as other artists are known to do; I enjoy every second of creating my work. If I live to be 1000, most of my ideas will still not have been realized. However, explaining myself ‘as an artist’...this is not easy. Words like ‘motivation’ and ‘inspiration’ and mostly make me laugh.... they’re just not me. I simply love to make art.”
