Hazard Mitigation Plan
The Town of Exeter is updating the Town’s Hazard Mitigation Plan and welcomes review and comment from the community. FEMA requires every municipality in the country to develop and maintain a Hazard Mitigation Plan to identify and evaluate the risks posed by natural hazards, such as flooding and extreme temperatures.
The 2024 draft Plan describes the natural hazards impacting Exeter, identifies existing programs and plans that mitigate the impacts of natural hazards, and recommends new actions to strengthen resilience to natural hazards.
The draft Plan is being developed by the Town’s Hazard Mitigation Committee and the Rockingham Planning Commission. Comments and questions on the draft Plan may be sent to Chief Justin Pizon at jpizon@exeternh.gov.
The Select Board will be holding a public hearing on the draft plan at their meeting on June 24th, 2024.
