Lincoln Winter Street Utility Project

Town of Exeter New Hampshire Official Website

Update 6/3/16: The project is complete except for some cleaning up of the work areas. This will be the last update for this project.

See attachment below for project timeline!

Project Details:

Water mains will be replaced on all of Lincoln Street and portions of Front, Winter and Main Streets as shown in blue on the aerial photo (attached below). All of the water services within the project limits will be replaced from the main to the curb stop, including hydrants.

The Contractor, Joseph P. Cardillo & Son, began mobilizing construction equipment and materials to the work area on Monday, October 19, 2015 with active construction beginning on Wednesday, October 21st.  Work will start at the intersection of Front Street and Lincoln Street and proceed down Lincoln Street this fall until weather conditions shutdown construction this year (late November/mid-December). The work is expected to be complete in the spring 2016, starting work again mid-April.

The road will be open during construction with alternating, one-way traffic around the work zone. Parking will be restricted in the work zone.  Residents will be notified at least one day before work will be done in front of their driveways.

Residents and business owners will be notified at least 2 days prior to any planned water service interruption. These interruptions are needed to make the connections to the existing water main and services.

Water Service Interruptions:

To make a water main connection at Front/Lincoln St on Thursday October 22nd, water service will be temporarily shut off on Front Street between Lincoln Street and School Street. Only services on Front Street will be affected and customers will be notified 48 hours ahead of this scheduled service interruption.
