Introduction to Gel Printing is a four-week course that meets 2 hours per class for a total of 8 hours.
Week One: Introduction to Printmaking. Show examples of what Gel printing can look like. Print six or more papers, some with acrylic paint and just water, others with paint, stencils or combs/forks etc. Add layers to original color using stencils or other methods.
Week Two: Cut papers to make note cards. Assemble note cords. Practice anagram of initials to sign each print. Place cards in plastic sleeves.
Week Three: Print papers for two journals or use prints from week two or three. Assemble journals.
Week Four: Finish journals, paint with gel glass. Dry. The instructor will provide plastic sleeves. Chose one print to frame. Sign with an anagram. Instructor will demonstrate how to glue and place print under mat. Framing elevates any picture!
Art Show at end of class: Stop by for a cookie and punch and admire the wonders of creating abstract art and the gel printing experience.
Pre-registration through Exeter Parks & Rec is required.
