Pay Range:                $28.00 – $37.66** (13 Steps + excellent benefits)

**New wage scale effective 7/1/2025: $30.80 – $43.9134

Description:  The Town of Exeter is currently seeking a full time Senior Operator for its Wastewater Treatment Facility, which is an activated sludge plant with enhanced nutrient removal.  Responsible for the effective utilization of personnel and materials assigned to the plant and ensure that the level of service is sufficient to meet discharge permit limits and maintain adequate conditions.  Train operators in laboratory testing procedures and plan operations. Review plant operations; generate logs of the plant’s operations and reports for State agencies, including monthly reporting to NHDES and USEPA; set daily chemical dosages in accordance with temperature and water quality; participate in the maintenance of the plant; maintain a level of supplies and service that is conductive to efficient operations; assist with the development of the yearly budget and other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications: Associates degree or equivalent required, knowledge of activated sludge wastewater treatment plant operations with five plus years of related experience.  NH Waste Water treatment plant grade 3 operator’s certification and NEWEA Laboratory Analyst Grade 1 required, or ability to obtain in 6 months.
