Salary Range: $22.88-$30.77** (13 steps + excellent benefits )
**NEW wage scale effective 7/1/25: $25.1680 - $35.8836
Job Location: 13 Newfields Road, Exeter NH

Description: Responsible for the efficient and effective operations of the surface water and groundwater treatment plants. Operator maintains appropriate local, state and federal report forms by rules and statutes. Acquire water samples and conduct test procedures as required. Monitor and adjust control apparatus following appropriate procedures. Constant inspections of plant equipment and machinery to make necessary adjustments or to clean and perform maintenance tasks. Ability to keep detailed records of tests and graph recording consumption. Operator fills towers, backwashes, filters and controls the water flow to and from treatment plants. The operator is responsible for responding to emergency calls and operates emergency generators at plants and pump stations. Must have the ability to investigate customer calls regarding water-related problems.
Qualifications: Requires knowledge of water treatment systems and operations equivalent to completion of a high school diploma along with advanced courses from a two-year college or technical school, and one to three years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Current State of New Hampshire Water Works Operator Certification - Treatment Grade I with the ability to acquire a Grade II certification within 1 year. Valid NH Driver’s License required.
