Kingston Road Project

7/19/24 - Curb installation is complete. The rapid flash beacon was installed at Riverwoods Dr and White Oak Dr.  Guardrail should be reinstalled before this week is over.  Next week's work will consist of:  placing concrete for the walkway tipdowns; grinding shoulder seams in preparation of paving; finish paving for the sidewalk and remaining roadway shoulders.

Stormwater

7/16/24 -  On July 22nd and July 23rd the Highway Department will be cleaning out the catch basins in the downtown area starting at 5am on both days. This is to ensure the crews have access to the catch basins. Some noise is anticipated while we use the Vactor truck. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

Webster Avenue Sewer Pump Station Improvement Project
Mon 7/15/24

7/15/2024: Construction for the Webster Ave Pump Station and Force Main Upgrade Project will begin on Monday, July 15th.  The Town's contractor, Northeast Earth Mechanics, LLC., will mobilize to the construction site, install erosion controls, prepare the site for construction activities, and install sheeting for the new wetwell and valve vault. Typical working hours are 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  Noise and vibration from trucks and heavy equipment are expected. The Town has hired the engineering firm, Wright-Pierce, to assist with construction observation and administration. We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this important project.

Squamscott River Siphon Improvement Project regularly updated

7/19/24 - Sewer lines were installed at the Mill side of the river connecting the sewer collection system to the new inlet structure and siphons.  The new siphon is now active.  Next week's activities include pipe testing of new sewer lines, finishing the inverts and covers for the structures and starting the restoration efforts.

Intersection Improvements

5/6/2024 - Winter Street/Columbus Ave/Railroad Ave Intersection: The contractor cut the old pavement last week and will remove this pavement debris today. On Tuesday, May 7th Bell and Flynn will install two new catch basins, and it is anticipated that the granite curbing will be installed on Thursday, May 9th. Please be cautious around the crews working in the area. This schedule is subject to change due to inclement weather.

Water Main Flushing

3/28/24:  Water mains will be flushed from April 14th to May 3rd, 2024.  Flushing will be performed at night during the first week from 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 am, and during the day for weeks 2 & 3 from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Water Main Break - Repaired
Fri 2/23/24

2/23/2024: Late last night (2/22/2024) a water main break occurred at the intersection of Gary Lane and Court Street. Water service was shut off and remained off for some time during the repair. Residents in this area may experience discolored water.

Transfer Station

4/18/24: The pit at the Transfer Station remains closed until the flooding dissipates. There is a designated area to dispose of brush and leaves. The Transfer Station attendant will advise where to go upon arrival.  We appreciate your cooperation and patience while wait for the flooding to dissipate.
