Project Information:

As part of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and Wastewater Main Pump Station upgrades, the two new sewer force mains on Newfields Road will be upgraded as well.

During the week of May 6, 2019, a temporary 18-inch sewer force main will be installed along Newfields Road to avoid a sewer break using the current sewer pipe. The temporary pipe is made up of High-Density Poly-Ethylene (HDPE), which is a flexible plastic suited for high-pressure pipelines. The temporary pipe will run above ground while in use, and be installed under each driveway of residents living between the northern end of Swasey Parkway and the Public Works property. Beginning May 13th 2019, the two new sewer force mains and 12-inch water main installation will begin. Newfields Road will be one-way, inbound (southbound) for local traffic only.  Newfields Road residents, buses, delivery vehicles, and emergency vehicles will be allowed. All other vehicles should seek an alternate route. This will continue through mid-November 2019.
