Washington Street Water Main Replacement

Separate sealed BIDS for the construction of the Washington Street Water Main Replacement, Contract 2017-1, will be received at the Town of Exeter, Town Office, Town Manager’s Office, 10 Front Street, Exeter, New Hampshire, 03833, until 2:00 P.M. local time on Wednesday, January 31, 2018.  BIDS will then be publicly opened and read aloud in the Novak Room at Town Hall, 10 Front Street, Exeter, New Hampshire.  The project includes the installation of approximately 1,900 linear feet of 8-inch ductile iron water main on Washington Street, temporary water service piping, valves, hydrants and other appurtenances.   

1.    Completion time for the project will be calculated as calendar days from the date specified in the “Notice to Proceed” as follows:

     110 calendar days for substantial completion.

     140 calendar days for final completion.

     Liquidated damages will be in the amount of $1,000 for each calendar day of delay from the date        established for substantial completion, and $ 1,000 for each calendar day of delay from the date established for final completion.

2.    Each General Bid shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in the amount of 5% of the Total Bid Price.

3.    The successful Bidder must furnish 100% Performance and Payment Bonds, and will be required to execute the Contract Agreement within 10 days following notification of the acceptance of his Bid.

4.    No Bidder may withdraw a Bid within 60 days after the actual date of opening thereof.

Copies may be obtained for a fee by completing an order online or by calling 978-362-8038 for each set.  Copies may also be shipped to prospective bidders for an additional charge to cover handling and mailing fees. All payments for printing and shipping are nonrefundable. For addition to the project plan holder’s list to guarantee receipt of addenda, it is recommended interested bidders obtain the Contract Documents directly from Accent. Interested bidders will be prompted to register an email address with Accent to access the documents.

There will be a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting scheduled for January 17, 2018, at 9:00 A.M. at the John Doyle Room at the Town of Exeter Department of Public Works Office, 13 Newfields Road, Exeter, New Hampshire 03833.  

The Owner reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any or all bids when such action is deemed in the best interests of the Owner. Non-responsive and/or unbalanced bids may be rejected.
