Coast Route 7
On Monday, June 29, 2015, there will be a major service change occurring (download the new printable schedule to the left). Route 7 will be modified to operate on an approximately hourly frequency between Newmarket, Stratham and Exeter on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays starting at 9:30 AM and ending just after 5:00 PM.
For public transit service to Durham, Newington, Portsmouth, Pease, Dover or elsewhere, timely connections to Wildcat Transit Route 5 are available in Newmarket.
The route has been redesigned to help residents affordably access area shopping, medical, social and recreational services. Hourly departures on the days operated will increase the frequency of bus service by nearly 300% over what is currently available on Route 7.
This major service change will involve the addition of new stops as well as the removal and/or relocation of several existing stops in Exeter.
Specifically, the route will run along Portsmouth Avenue, High and Water Streets into and out of downtown Exeter. Service to the Green Hill / Jady Hill / Chestnut Street neighborhood will be discontinued. The bus will no longer service Hannaford plaza directly, but relocated bus stops will be available on Portsmouth Avenue. Other relocated bus stops will be available at Exeter Commons (Rite-Aid), Walgreens and String Bridge. Service to Exeter Hospital will be "on request" only.
New bus stops will be added on Linden Street at the Seacoast School of Technology and the new Exeter Area YMCA!
For the convenience of our passengers, we will continue to provide service to the Stratham Market Basket Plaza. However, all other stops in Stratham will be closed effective 6/29/15. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
