Downtown Sidewalk Replacement Project
Update 7/22/16: Line striping/painting is done. Sign installation started this week and will be completed next week. Tree planting is going to wait until we get some better weather. Until then, this is the last update about the sidewalk project.
Update 7/15/16: The paving is complete. The painting crews will be out Sunday night and Monday night, starting around 9:30 p.m for about 4 hours each night. Please be use caution when driving through the area. Tree planting and sign installation will also occur over the next few weeks. The near-drought conditions may delay the tree planting for a while.
Update 7/8/16: The road paving will be wrapping up this afternoon. The crews will be switching to driveway paving, which is done by hand. That will continue on Monday and into Tuesday.
Line striping/painting will happen within the next couple weeks, depending on the contractor's schedule. Most of the painting will be done at night, but layout by the surveyors will be done during the day.
Tree planting and sign installation will also occur over the next few weeks.
Update 7/1/16: Shimming is complete. Raising the manhole structures will be finished Tuesday. There will be no work on Monday. Paving begins on Wednesday and will continue into the following week (except the weekend) a couple days. The weather will be a big factor in how quickly the work can be completed. Similar to the shimming process, the sections being paved will have no parking on either side of the street and will require some minor detours. The sidewalks will be accessible.
Line striping/painting will happen shortly after paving is complete (within 1-2 weeks, depending on the contractor's schedule). Most of the painting will be done at night. Tree planting and sign installation will also occur over the next few weeks.
