Emergency Construction | Intersection of High Street and Portsmouth Ave

Update 4/13/17 3:30 pm: Exeter Public Works and construction crews are replacing a collapsed 15-inch sewer main on High Street in Exeter. Ongoing coordination with adjacent utilities, including Unitil, is required to safely maintain all utility services. New welded steel gas main must be installed before the existing gas line can be removed which will then allow access to and construction of new sewer main. This work is anticipated 10 or more days.

The intersection of High Street (NH Routes 27 & 111) and Portsmouth Avenue (NH Route 108) is closed to through traffic resulting in the rerouting of traffic in this area (see detour route map). Through motorists are advised to seek alternate routes through next week. All businesses remain open. Regular updates will continue to be provided as the work progresses.
