Nighttime Road Work on Route 101 at Exit 9 in Exeter
Sign work will require a temporary detour for two nights.

The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) will temporarily detour the eastbound Route 101 traffic on Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 9 pm to 5 am, to perform nighttime road work

Eastbound traffic will be detoured off Route 101 to the exit 9 off-ramp where they will be directed to proceed across Route 27 and directly back onto Route 101 eastbound via the Exit 9 on-ramp.  This work is expected to last two nights beginning on Sunday, May 7, 2023, from 9 pm to 5 am.

This detour is necessary to allow for the replacement of an existing bridge-mounted sign that is mounted directly over the two travel lanes of Route 101 eastbound at Exit 9.

Message boards and traffic control devices will be used to notify the traveling public. Uniformed Officers will also be utilized to aid in the detour.  Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.

Motorists can get real-time traffic news from https://newengland511.org/.  Let “My511” alert you to incidents and construction work.

This work is part of the $0.4 M sign replacement project on Route 101 between Exits 6 and 9, both eastbound and westbound. The estimated completion date is May 15, 2023, and the general contractor is K5 Corporation of Rockland, MA.
